1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your browser and remember certain information. Cookies cannot run programmes or carry viruses.
We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, local storage) in accordance with the Dutch Telecommunicatiewet Art. 11.7a and GDPR. We only place non-essential cookies after obtaining your explicit consent.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be disabled. They include:
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gd_consent_v2 | Stores your cookie consent preferences | Session / 1 year (localStorage) |
gd_lang | Remembers your language preference (EN/NL) | Persistent (localStorage) |
| PHPSESSID | PHP session identifier for form processing | Session |
Legal basis: Not required (functional necessity, not a "cookie" in the consent sense where consent is required).
2.2 Functional Cookies
These cookies enable enhanced features such as remembering your language preference and form data.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
gd_lang | Persists language choice across sessions | Persistent |
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent.
2.3 Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our website so we can improve performance and content. We use Google Analytics (via Google Ads gtag.js) for this purpose.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years | |
_ga_* | Session state for GA4 | 2 years | |
_gid | Distinguishes users (24h) | 24 hours |
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent. Analytics cookies are only placed after you click "Accept All" or enable analytics in Manage Preferences.
2.4 Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to display relevant advertisements on Google and Microsoft Bing based on your browsing behaviour. They are set by Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (UET tag) and only loaded after your explicit consent.
| Cookie name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Conversion measurement | 90 days |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads | Click attribution | 90 days |
IDE | Google DoubleClick | Ad personalisation | 1 year |
MUID | Microsoft Bing | Ad tracking identifier | 1 year |
_uet* | Microsoft UET | Conversion tracking | 13 months |
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent. Marketing cookies are only placed after you click "Accept All" or enable marketing in Manage Preferences.
3. Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2, which communicates your consent choices to Google's advertising and analytics services. When you reject marketing or analytics cookies, Google will operate in a restricted mode — using only anonymised, aggregate data and modelling to estimate conversions without identifying you. The gtag.js script is loaded on all pages but fires tracking signals only when the appropriate consent is granted.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our website are set by third parties. We have no direct control over these cookies. Please review the respective privacy policies:
5. How to Manage or Withdraw Consent
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time using the following methods:
- Cookie Settings panel: Click Cookie Settings in the footer of any page or the button at the top of this page.
- Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect website functionality.
- Google Ads opt-out: google.com/settings/ads
- Network Advertising Initiative: networkadvertising.org/choices
- Your Online Choices (EU): youronlinechoices.eu
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.
